How fileformatconverter.store uses cookies and browser storage
Introduction
This Cookie Policy explains the browser storage and cookies used by fileformatconverter.store.
What are cookies
Cookies are small text files stored by your browser. We use only the cookies and browser storage needed for the site's selected features and preferences.
How we use cookies and storage
- Essential preferences: A locale preference and limited interface state may be stored in cookies so the site can render your selected language and layout.
- Authentication: If you sign in, session cookies keep the account session active.
- Converter file storage: The converter uses IndexedDB, not a cookie, to keep the selected PDF temporarily in your browser for up to 24 hours. The PDF is not sent to our server. The converter's Clear local file control removes it.
- Payment return state: The checkout page uses the browser session nonce in local storage to match the returning browser with its payment order. The server stores only a hash of that nonce.
Analytics and support chat are not loaded on converter or checkout pages. They may be loaded on other public pages after the browser is idle, depending on the site's production configuration.
Managing cookies and storage
Most browsers let you view, delete, or block cookies and site storage. Blocking essential cookies or browser storage can affect language selection, sign-in, checkout return matching, and temporary converter file recovery.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy by posting a revised version on this page.
